Let me start with a big THANK YOU to Amy and all of the great sponsors who make this possible to showcase our work. This is my entry into the Blogger’s Quilt Festival, in the Doll Quilt section. Introducing – Faith’s Slumber Party
I made this doll quilt for my daughter’s second birthday, along with the little dolls. All of the mini quilts are made of flannel, as are the girls nightgowns. It reminded me of the flannel nightgowns my sister and I wore when we were little. The flannel made them quite soft to the touch and she enjoyed playing with them for quite a while.
I drew each of the little faces on with Pigma permanent pens, added yarn for hair and stuffed with poly filler. Each little doll also has a little pillow, slightly stuffed with a second layer of poly batting. I hand or paper pieced each of the mini quilts and then machine quilted along some of the celestial waves in the background fabric with metallic thread with a medium weight cotton batting.
Quilt measures 30″ x 25″
Mini quilts are all 4″ square
Dolls are 4.5″ tall
Hand & machine pieced & quilted

Elita, I well remember you working on this quilt for Faith! I still love is as much as i did back then. Do you have a copy of the pattern? I woul dlove to make something similar for my grandddaughters. I suppose I could try winging it, but if you could point me to a set of directions that would make my life even better. Thanks, my friend, I miss you!
I will look in my files & see what I’ve done with the pattern. Happy to share it!
