Packing in the Peaks Fun – Peaks 5 – Day 1

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]How much fun can you pack in a weekend? Well it seems like Patchwork in the Peaks keeps cramming more & more in each time. I suppose some of the thrill is seeing longtime friends but the squeals of delight every time something else is produced totally ramp it up. I’m going to break the recap of Peaks 5 up into the days so that you don’t feel like you’re reading one of those coffee table books with all the pretty pictures at one time. 🙂

Chalet 4 Vents

To start with, we had a new venue, Chalet 4 Vents, overlooking Morzine. We all loved the beautiful, LIGHT, dining room which became the stitching haven/dining room.

Panoramic views

Tough room to photograph though, with all that bright light coming in.

Gorgeous view of Morzine

A gorgeous view from the terrace, just outside of the Stitching Room.

The ensuite bedrooms were elegantly decorated, in soft muted tones,

Cake is always welcome!

Upon our arrival, we were greeted with cake, which always makes for a great start.

Getting ready

Getting situated

It didn’t take long for people to get situated & jump right in to their sewing.

Champagne Stitchers

And not long after that before the champagne aperitif was being gleefully toasted.

Busy Needle Mobile Quilt Shop

The first night is mainly an opportunity to get settled, check out the Busy Needle Mobile shop, and chat with friends, both old & new.

More stock for the shop

The laughs begin…

New friend Miss R

New friends, Miss P & Miss H

Miss JJ & Miss C

There were two friends who have been present at every Peaks from the beginning that were not able to join us this time due to other commitments. They were immortalised all the same.

Miss J & Miss C, dressed

Yes, my daughter says it’s creepy.

I say perhaps only when we dressed them. 🙂

Me & Lovely Faith

And speaking of my daughter, the Lovely Faith, most of the pictures that were taken at Peaks 5 are thanks to her uber talented skills. I may have to kidnap her from university so I’ll continue to have nice piccies.

Quilt Fairy Gina

After a yummy dinner, we went downstairs to the large lounge for Show & Tell.

I know I don’t have to be the last one up but I usually am. Here was our room, all tidy & neat, ready for the next day.

Ready for the next day
Already tomorrow

And so it was the end of the day, that was already tomorrow. A lovely, wonderful start to Peaks 5.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_btn title=”SEE THE LATEST ON PEAKS” color=”violet” size=”lg” align=”center” link=”url:http%3A%2F%2Fbusyneedle.ch%2Fretreats%2Fretreat-fun-damentals%2F||” button_block=”true”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
