Last month I participated in the Covert Robin round-robin gift exchange and have really enjoyed seeing what has emerged. My Covert Robin gifts arrived just before I left for the Peaks 3 retreat and I’d just received confirmation that my own Robin had landed but no time to whip up the post so here it is, just under the wire on the last day. It’s been a busy few weeks around here so I am playing catch-up.
I was Covert Robin to the lovely Mary of Sew Maybe I Can. I had such a good time stalking her blog and found out she is partial to dots as well as black & white prints. She’s also allergic to tree nuts. This meant that I wasn’t going to be able to send her any Swiss chocolate for fear of causing an allergic reaction since the primary ingredient in many of the chocolates here is either hazelnuts or pecans. But I wanted her to have something with a Swiss theme so I sent her an e-cover that I’d made with the Swiss flag on it.

Since she likes black & white prints, it was the perfect opportunity to make up a Pod Pillow with a lovely fat quarter I’d received through a swap with friends recently. Wrapped up in polka dot paper & slipped into the post on the 30th of March, off it went to the other side of the Big Pond in Canada.
I received an email from Mary to say that her Pod Pillow was already in use and she loved the Swiss Cross case. Now I can follow her blog openly, no more secret stalking! 🙂
In turn, I received these lovely gifts from my Robin, Siubhan, of CraftLee, in Ireland:
She is a wonderfully crafty artist on the banks of the river Lee, in County Cork, Ireland. I loved getting to know her through her blog as well as learning a lot from her great tutorials. She makes awesome bags & felt flowers (see the pretty one on the bag?) as well as a host of other goodies. This bag has the most unusual fabric on the inside, with textured sections that reminds me of a dandelion. I am an avid reader so the magnetic butterfly bookmark is already in a book by my bed. My mother has threatened to take the cute bag back to the US with her. Must check her bags before she leaves…

Siubhan also sent this beautiful pinny. Did she read my thoughts and know that I am a long time lover of Laura Ashley & my adolescent bedroom used to be this shade of lavender? She put in professional folded pleats along the top & the bottom and it’s beautifully finished. While I don’t look quite as thin as her dressmaker’s model, this really is the perfect purple pinny.
Thanks to all these lovely ladies for the great organisation that made this gift exchange possible!!
