It’s my first finish of the FAL 2014! (See full list here) My version of All Framed Up in Pink is finally finished! Renamed “Butterflies for Kiran” & gifted, I must say that it’s taken a while in part because I love the fabric so much I made excuses why I couldn’t get it finished. 🙂
My friend was very happy with it and I hope to be getting some pictures of Kiran with it soon.
It’s a bit difficult to see the lovely Sunny Day quilting on the front but the back shows it beautifully:
And yes, that is a mottled hot pink flannel. While a bit dark in the photo, the colour is like a piece of bright pink bubblegum.
Quilt Stats:
Name: Butterflies for Kiran (original pattern “All Framed Up” from Moda Bake Shop, pattern by Melissa Corry)
Size: 40″ (100cm) square
Fabrics: Mixture of Pat Bravo, Joel Dewberry, Art Gallery & some stash batiks. (closeups of the fabrics shown in this post)
Thread: Aurifil N°2600 – Dove grey (50wt) for piecing & Aurifil N°2479 – Medium Orchid (40 wt) for quilting.
Batting: Quilter’s Dream Wool
Binding is machine stitched to the quilt & then hand-stitched down. Butterfly label was lined, edge stitched with contrasting thread & hand-appliquéd.
I’ll be sharing this with the folks at:
