Longarm Quilting

Quilting is the term used to describe the sewing of the three layers (top, batting & backing) together. Fees for quilting are determined by the amount of intricacy to the design. All quilting charges include Quilters Dream cotton or polyester batting, one colour of thread, and a needle. Batting comes in various thicknesses and fibres. Others can be used upon request. Changes in thread colour will add a thread charge of $5.00 per colour. A deposit of 50% will be due when you drop off your quilt.

We will discuss what you’d like for the quilting and I will propose some design suggestions. Below are examples of each level of quilting.

I can also baste quilts for hand-quilters. Basting would be done with a lightweight cotton thread. As with regular quilting orders, Quilters Dream cotton or polyester batting is included in the charge. Wool and Bamboo/Silk are available for an additional charge.

You can get an idea of how much quilting will cost using the calculator below. When you’re ready, we can chat about the timeline. Do let me know if you have any questions (elita at busyneedle dot net) or you can use the chat function in the lower right corner of your screen.

European/Swiss Clients

I will be travelling to Switzerland at least two times a year, in late April and mid-September. It will be possible for you to send your quilt tops to an address in Switzerland, where I will collect them. When I return, I will post the quilts via Priority Poste. You will be able to pay in Swiss francs or Euros. Contact me for the address of where to send your quilt top/backing (elita at busyneedle dot net).

All longarm services include your choice of Quilters Dream Cotton or Polyester (3 lofts), one colour of Aurifil thread, and needles. Wool and Bamboo/Silk battings are available for a supplemental charge.

Merci de votre réponse … and best regards.

Hi Elita. I am an Australian quilter living in Baden and wonder if you know any longarm quilters in my area? I have a Queen sized (approx 180x 200) quilt that I would like quilted with an all-over pattern. Thanks, Ruth

    Hello Elita.
I’ve never met you, but I saw an example of your wonderful machine quilting yesterday and wonder if you would be able to quilt a flying-geese double quilt for me sometime in the summer.
I haven’t even put it together yet, but I’m sure you must have a waiting list. Just let me know.
    I live in Lausanne 021.922.2011.
    Regards.
    Stella
