And so I’ve missed the linkup for February’s deadline but “Surprise for Baby” WAS finished on time. At least I can add it to my list as done. 🙂

For February, my goal was to finish a surprise quilt for a friend with a new baby. The quilt was being done by myself and another quilting friend, Diana. While it was made for Baby K to use, it was made very much with new mum Jean-Marie in mind. She loves Kaffe Fassett in any form so that was the easy choice.
The pattern is called A Ritzy Cracker and is from the Moda Bake Shop. It stitched up quick & easy. I backed it with a fleece blanket from Ikea so it didn’t need batting.
Diana & I pieced the blocks, Diana assembled them and I machine quilted in the ditch. Diana added the final touches of hand-quilted hearts in the squares and binding in more KF.

Jean Marie loved it but more importantly, so does Baby K. 🙂
