Tonight at MNQ, I took along my Hawaiian Hexies. Miss D was gracious with her homemade scones & apple jam made by her daughter. After getting caught up on the week, Miss D wanted to get started on her first hexie.

I showed her how I do it, armed with my trusty glue stick, pre-cut hexie papers and using a ladder stitch, she carried on.

I had brought her a new spool of Aurifil N°2024, in 50 wt. When she started stitching, she commented that it was the Rolls Royce of thread. I couldn’t agree more. Yes, I’m totally biased. 🙂 It wasn’t long before she had a sweet little trio. Miss J, who was unfortunately absent & well missed, would have been proud.

As for my progress, I managed to add a bit more to the Hawaiian Hexies.

I counted them up and the total number for the top is 231 hexies. I have another 13 to add to get the top finished. Once quilted, I’ll need another 52 to go around the perimeter for the edging. But that’s what I’ve got for now. The first post about this is here. Decent progress I think. 🙂
